§ So long, and thanks for all the Guinness

Today is my last day at the office, so this is probably my last posting for a while. It's been great! Just look at all the pictures to see how much fun I've had.

I'll miss everyone. Take care. AduC.nl, signing off.

§ PARTY!!

Tonight at 8pm...

At Harry Byrnes...

MY LEAVING PARTY!

(P - A - R - T - Why? Because you gotta!)

§ Ezekiel 25:17

The path of the righteous IC Rep is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish, and the tyranny of evil prospects. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and goodwill, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness for he is truly his collegue's keeper and the finder of lost interns. And I will strike down on thee with great vengence and furious anger, those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers, and you will know my name is Team Leader when I lay my vengence upon thee.

§ Three days to go

In the old days, when I just arrived in Ireland, when I was still young, I thought 6 months was a very long time. Ha, I was wrong! It's actually very short, because suddenly I only have 3 days of working left!

Time flies here in Dublin.

§ Echt Hollands

Hollanders op vakantie zijn ook allemaal hetzelfde...

Sorry, this is a Dutch Joke. Foreigners just wouldn't understand.

§ Whoohoo!

This is the paper Adriaan and I wrote on cultural differences within West Africa, when we went to Nigeria. We rule!

For the cretins that do not speak Dutch: we scored a 9. Out of 10. That's good. That's very good. Nobody gets a 9 for a paper worth 4 credits at university. Except us.

§ P + E

Look! It's my old flatmate Paula and her friend Eva. I hope they enjoyed the places in Dublin I showed them. I think they did:

They left for Castlebar on Friday and flew back to the Netherlands today (I think).

There are also some new assorted pictures in the gallery. Pictures of the only open pub in Dublin on Good Friday (w00t!), and of Kilmainham Gaol (pronounce: Kilmainham Jail, and yes it's an old jail). Check 'm out!

§ The last lead weighs the most

That's a direct translation of a Dutch saying: De laatste loodjes wegen het zwaarst. It means that my traineeship is almost over and I have to work very hard to get everything done before I leave. (FYI, I'll probably fly back to the Netherlands on the 7th of May)

The student population has grown considerably at the office. Floris is a Dutch student that's going to do some things for the Dutch Sales department here in Dublin. And my 2 successors arrived in Dublin this week, Therese (SWE) and Aileen (BE), so that means there's a lot to organize and hand over. Just a couple more students and we can start our own fraternity here! That would be nice actually, because i'm currently the student that's here the longest (evil grin: 'Politesse!').

Also, Paula (my old flatmate) and her friend Eva are in town for a couple of days. I have been and will be having some drinks with them and show them around Dublin after I finish from work. Which is now. See ya!

§ Long time no see...

Yes, I've been a bit busy lately. So much work, so little time... I partied a bit as well. So what's happened? The postal strike is over. The Luas has had it's first crash. Two successors for me have been recruited.

Tomorrow I'm going to the Netherlands for Easter and a couple of birthdays. While I'm gone, you can take a look at the new pictures I put online of Mark's visit (finally).
